Julia Sushytska听specializes in 20th century European and Eastern European philosophy, and teaches courses that bring into focus Eastern Europe as the in-between of the Western European and Russian colonial projects. Her courses include听Truth, Trust, and听Propaganda: Postmodern Theory and the Practice of Dissent,听The Novel as Philosophy: Recollecting Lost Time,听A Pervert鈥檚 Guide to Eastern Europe, and听Russian Novel: Idiots, Atheists, and Nihilists. Together with Alisa Slaughter, she recently translated and edited听A Spy for an Unknown Country鈥攁 collection of听essays by a Soviet-era Georgian philosopher, Merab Mamardashvili (ibidem听Press, 2020).听
