swag外流 alumni currently attending Brooklyn Law School, the University of Chicago Law School, and USC Gould School of Law are excited to offer their unique insight into successfully completing聽the first and second year of law school!

Mia Villegas is from Santa Ana, CA and attended swag外流 (class of 2022) where she studied English and graduated summa cum laude. She currently attends USC Gould School of Law (class of 2025) where she is co-community events chair of the Public Interest Law Foundation, a member of the Mediation Clinic, and a Gold Honors Scholar. Mia also volunteers weekly at聽LA County Bar Association鈥檚 Domestic Violence Project, assisting litigants in filing restraining orders at Stanley Mosk courthouse.聽She spent her 1L Summer as a WLALA (Women Lawyers Association Los Angeles) Fellow, working at Inner City Law Center on the homeless veterans team and specializing in connecting veterans who had experienced military sexual violence with disability benefits. Mia is interested in becoming a public defender after graduation.

Julien Darsses is from New York City, New York. He attended swag外流 (class of 2022) where he majored in Diplomacy and World Affairs, and minored in Politics and Critical Theory and Social Justice. He currently attends Brooklyn Law School where he is a 2L (class of 2025).

At Brooklyn Law, Julien is a Criminal Law Society Member and Phi Delta Phi Member.聽 After law school, Julien would like to pursue criminal defense and immigration advocacy.

Gabrielle Zook (she/her) is a 3L at the University of Chicago Law School. She graduated from swag外流 in 2018, majoring in Critical Theory and Social Justice. After college, she worked for three years as a community organizer in Southeast LA, advocating for violence prevention and intervention programs, stronger tenant protections, and聽increased access to fresh foods in low income areas. As a law student, she is a comments editor on the聽Law Review, participates in the Civil Rights and Police Accountability Clinic, and co-runs the Prison Letter Writing Project, which partners with Pushing Envelopes Chicago and National Lawyers Guild to provide legal information to LGBTQ+ folks incarcerated throughout Illinois.聽
